Hi, first post even though ive been a member for awhile. I have the opportunity to buy an LS1 from a friend, its out of a C5 with an auto. Im curious what would be a fair price for it. 10k miles car was in an accident back in 04 but it runs and drives.

Also id be pulling my motor out of my 98 SS with 78k, curious what that would be worth also? Thank you!!

 

I wouldn't go crazy on price for an LS1. I would imagine at least 1500 for yours if not more depending on what you are selling with it. I could see his going for 2500 or more just because of the mileage.

 

60k miles on an LS1 isn't worth the effort unless your current motor is totally fugged.

If you're buying the LS1 for a project without an engine or upgrading the existing engine, however, then that would be worth it.

 

Good to know guys, thank you for the reply's. I figured that with even the low mileage on the C5 motor it probably wasnt worth more than 2500.
