Default TSP Heads (or others) worth the extra cost?

So I'm in the process of putting together an LS1 for my 02 Silverado and I have a question about heads.

My initial thought was to send my 241's to Advanced Inductions and have them worked over. Then I started looking at the offerings from Texas Speed. Are their Stg 2.5 LS6 heads worth the extra cost for a fairly mild street build?

I have heard nothing but good things about both companies, so I am happy to spend my money with either. I just want to spend it wisely.

The engine setup is a stock bottom end LS1 out of an 01 Camaro, with a Cam Motion 222/226 grind.

I am open to any other options as well if you have thoughts.

Either way it will make good power. With that cam and the weight of a pick up, I wouldn't bother with 243's or port work. It is really a matter of opinion though. Only you can decide if it is worth the money. I have always thought of trucks as a way to pull race cars, not compete with them.

Like mentioned above you will pick up similar power either way, so obviously that's for you to determine

I would go with the A.I.heads personally.

I get your point, and I'm not trying to build a race truck, but it's certainly not a tow rig either. Just something fun to drive on the street. I have the motor on the stand to put in the truck and I figured now would be the time to do the heads. I hate to leave stones unturned when it's easy to do.

It is a 5.7 LS1. Stock bottom end. If there is something that you can recommend that would be a better combination I'm all ears.

Go with whatever route sves you the most money. Between the two, gains will be minimal.

I was just making sure it wasn't a 5.3 or a 6.0 as I would have recommended a different head to better suit you. Between ours and AI, like others have said, will produce similar results figure in around 7-10rwhp difference going from the 241 to 243 castings.

Thats what I was looking for. Thanks for the info.

Lonnie, I will be getting touch for some headers and a few other parts as the build progresses.
