Ok heres my question and then I'll post the details.
Will I have to get new pistons if I change heads ?
Block is a 2004 LQ 6.0:
Bored .030 over = 4.030 bore
Callies 4.00 stroke crank
Callies 6.125 rods
Wiseco Forged dish pistons - -15cc and with the heads I have with TEA stage 3 317 blower heads it would put my compression ratio about 9.2 to 1 with the 74cc and would clear the 2.10/1.60 SS valves
I've been thinking about running an LS3 style head though and have heard a lot of people are having to flyfut pistons to use them. My setup is a turbo and I do not want to fly cut them - but I could replace them now before my motor is built.
Back to my question - will I have to - from what I under stand LS3 valves are 2.165
.065 larger than my 2.10
I do not have a cam yet - I know that makes a big part of the puzzle , but it is literally the last item ( unless I switch heads ) that I need to buy.
Hope that makes sense , trying to figure out math like this is not my strong suite.
