Default A good deal or not?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/CHEVROLET-GM...-/331264835911

Found this guy on ebay, has all kinds of LS parts etc...Do you guys think this looks like a decent deal? I am wondering if the "sold as rebuildable" is some sort of CYA deal on his end. It looks to be fairly clean setup. Just looking for something to swap my current stuff onto, and not break the bank. 6.0's are like gold in my neck of the woods lol!

Youd be better off pulling on from a junk yard for cheaper or finding one on here

Well, I haven't seen one in a yard or on here for that cheap is why I thought it might be worth the money. Most of the yards ive searched want to sell the whole engine, and they have been in the $1100-$4000 range. I don't need the intake or heads or anything, just a good shortblock so I can put my parts on and get the car back running again.

I've seen several of those auctions stating "no knowledge" and "sold as rebuildable." If it really were a ready-to-go short block, the seller would sell it as that and make more $$ IMO. I've been really tempted by some of those, but even paying to have everything checked out will cost you more time and money than your are saving. Also already .020" over and rebuildable core? You can go further on those blocks but I think these guys are hoping you will have just the hope you indicated here..and they know something about the short block they are not telling. Smells like fish.

And freight shipping is going to cost you some bucks too. Those are cast iron and heavy.

He's in Waco, TX. I've bought a couple oil pans off him, no surprises...

Well I think S10xGN said it right there..no surprises. So I wouldn't expect to buy a "rebuildable core" and be surprised that it's actually "ready to run."

..But I must admit those ads like that on eBay always have me curious!
