Default Block crack! New block options

My car is a ls1 but the block cracked and I'm wondering what block would be good to go with but not outrageous ! I seen the ls1 and ls2 blocks are around the same price! Which would be the best to get out of them 2? And could y'all refer me to a different block or anything that's all I know of? Please help

If on a budget a used L33 block can be bored out more or less making it a LS6 block. I'd just buy a short block from TMS if I needed a new block.

The LS2 is a slightly bigger bore block, but will require you to use a couple extension harness on your ls1. The 5.3 aluminum is also a good choice, but would require block boring as well as a hone.

Sometimes it is cheaper just to buy a new short block complete with high end internals.

Give us a call, we can help you with a block only or an assembled short block. We have the blocks and assembled short blocks in stock.

Thanks

Dominic

We have iron 5.3's in a .030 bore available. You can have a local shop punch it out to the 3.898 bore and use it.
