So I'm looking at pulling my motor over the winter. Going to freshen it up and swap in some arp rod bolts. The car has bolt ons, but still has stock intake and heads. Also wanting to swap those but stick with an ls6 intake and 243 heads. My car ran 11.28 on a 150 shot, and I'm interested in knowing your guys opinions on what cam I should run. Ive looked into the ms3 and also the "el toro" but what other options are there? I noticed the ms3 seems to lack torque, I will be hopefully at the track more frequently where the torque is needed but will also be a weekend warrior. I will end up changing my stall also. The motor will get all the supporting cam mods as well. Just stumped on the choice of the cam.

What heads you running? MS3 cam isa good cam but as time goes on things change. I would contact Pat G about a cam..... If not him then Brian Tooley. Martin at Tick do a lot of cams too but I mostly see his cams in turbo cars.

Our Stg IV cam has made 440 rwtq and 460 rwhp with stock LS6 heads and intake in a C5 Corvette. http://www.briantooleyracing.com/nat...-camshaft.html

Here are some 1/4 mile performance results from a F-body.

I looked into the El Toro also, nice flat torque curve that starts early. I've seen a cam card from one. 230XFI/230XE-R 111+2 actually cuts as a 232/232. Nice graph for a M6 car but you have a auto so you would converter flash past all the toro goodness anyway. El Toro is NOT n2O friendly, you need more exhaust duration for that.
Maybe tell us more about the combination your planning and your street driving and see what Brian Tooley suggests then ?

The Trans is a stock 4l60e with a stall,3.23 gearss. I plan on getting stock 243s and doing some hand porting along with a stock ls6 intake. And how does that suggested cam respond to spray?

The Stg IV cam works well on the spray up to 250 shot. If you wanted to spray more than that I would suggest a custom cam.

Awesome that sounds like it would be perfect for me then! Also if I were to buy new ls7 lifters and trays what size push rods would you suggest with the stage 4 cam? Thanks a lot though for all the help!

The standard 7.400" length pushrods should be fine.

We also have a great deal on the cam kit with the cam, spring kit and pushrods. http://www.briantooleyracing.com/btr...-pushrods.html

These parts are also available from any of our dealers.

That cam from Brian would do you well. Might as well get the entire kit while you're at it. You'll need everything that's in there.

My car is off getting tuned today. And the tuner just texted me and told me it's only putting down 357 peak at the moment, it is an auto car with a stall and stock 323 gears but to me that seems pretty low, it's the btr stg 4 with all the supporting mods including 36 lb injectors ls6 intake and 243 heads with longtubes and an xpipe. The car put down around the same horsepower on the same dyno last year

That is really low, need to dig into it and find out what is wrong.

That cam has made over 400 rwhp through a TH400 with stock 241 heads.

Its weird cause we went for a test hit the other night and it pulls just as hard on motor as what it did last year on a 100 shot.. So we are so confused on what it is so we are going to hit the track and see what kind of times it puts down, It went 7.84 last year 1/8 on motor ,11.28 1/4 on 150 shot. So if it improves like we think, I am going to say the dyno is questionable.

Exactly...don't worry about dyno numbers... Especially on a Stalled A4 with a unlocked converter. The only valid comparison would be if you did a dyno pull before the engine mods and compared it to your new setup...same dyno and weather correction...etc.

Talked to the tuner last night and he said he heard some noises coming from the tranny when it was on the Dyno. So I think we know why the numbers are low. So time to upgrade/rebuild..

Took it to a 1/8mi Friday night since it only goes thru 2nd with the 3:23s in it. Ran this year about what it did last year with a 100 shot on it. And he only had one good pass so the Dyno numbers were way off due to the tranny. And it has some more on motor can't wait to see when the tranny is fixed..
