Default Cam for my application?

I've been thinking about getting a cam sometime soon for my 5.3.As of right now, it's just a bone stock 5.3 that i've swapped into my 98 Chevy truck, with the exception of the long tubes, and full exhaust which is on its way. I don't want to go insanely big with this engine. Just something that's gonna produce good power as well as good sound. I'm open to any recommendations that anyone has.

We have a lot of customers that have done the same or similar setup that you're looking for. One of the more popular cams we sell for the 5.3L trucks looking to retain the stock torque converter is the Comp Cams 212/218:

This cam is certainly proven for excellent streetability and nice power gains over the factory cam. It won't be anything that's too aggressive and causes issues, but it will provide you with a nice bump in power over stock. We also offer the cam in a cam package with single beehive valve springs and a set of hardened pushrods for $599.99. We have our cam packages on sale through the end of December!

It's just a stock 4L60E. We rebuilt it before the motor swap and has like no miles on it.

Cam motions drop in cams have had really good results
Thunderstruck on here has one in his silverado
Picked up 40hp
Better gas mileage
Little bit of sound
Stock converter still

I've actually looked at that exact cam. As far as LSA, what would be the best bet? To my knowledge, the lower the LSA, the "choppier" it'll be, and the higher the LSA, the smoother it'll be. If I'm in the ballpark, cool. If not, feel free to correct me. And for the pushrod length. Is 7.4" stock in that engine or should I check that before I buy?
