Default Need your help!

Hey everyone, so i purchased a 1999 Chevy Suburban with a Vortec L31 5.7L and i'm getting very confused about swapping it into my E36 that i have. From what I've been told, it is a GenIII motor... so i should be able to swap LS1 parts onto it, correct? I was thinking of doing a LS1 heads and LS6 intake manifold, but I've also read that you can't swap LS parts onto that motor. Can someone help me here? I've been researching for days

Pretty sure thats not an LS engine. Nothing LS related is going to work.

Is there anyway to make LS parts work? I saw people saying a lot of the head internals needed to be changed. Would it be worth it to just sell the motor and trans and just buy an LS?

Looks like you are one year off. 99 was the last year of that body style. You would need a 2000 and up for a Ls motor at least from a Suburban. I would just unload it or part it out and then keep looking.

Only the half ton pickups got the genIII engine in 99. The three quarter, one ton and Tahoe/ burbons didn't rebody or get the LS until 2000. The 6.0 engines were iron headed until mid year 01 when the 317 aluminum heads became the standard 6.0 casting
