Default New engine what should i do performance wise next

Hey guys, excited I just got a replacement engine installed in the 98TA. It already had headers intake and exhaust.. The only performance (insurance) parts I've added are a double roller and high volume ls1 oil pump. 2 questions, first my mechanic said no mod was needed besides a shim for the oil pump and no mod on the oil pickup tube which I found was weird, should I be worried in the future? Also should I do a tune next or possibly an upgraded intake manifold? I'm not able to dump much into it right now but would enjoy some additonal power, what do you recommend? Any help is greatly appriciated

Definitely get a tune asap! What intake manifold is on there?

Default re

The stock ls1 intake.. If I change it to ls1 or aftermarket without the egr stuff I need to perform an egr delete as well right? Also with a tune how much could I expect to gain roughly? Thanks for the quick response
