want to do a 5.3 to 5.7 build I have been doing some reading and i have came to the conclusion that im going to get a l33 5.3 and get it punched out to a 5.7. The engine is going in my lexus gs. The mounts and misc items for the swap will most likely kill me so i need everyones help on what i can do to make this happen. I dont have very much experience on building motors so i will most likely send it to a shop so they can do the the bore work and assembly, once i get it to my house i will then rip my motor and tranny out and spend a couple weeks installing everything. I need info and help on where to get things cheap so i can make this happen without spending a fortune. As of now, my ideas are look for the motor.. Look for a shop, and look for ls1 rods and pistons. Im sure im missing alot more but thats why i am here reaching out to everybody. If your wondering what im going to do for performance... Im going to get a really big cam and probably call it a year with an intake and full straight pipes to go along with it. I love my car , and i love my engine but its about time i swap something into it that i can easily tune and modify. Please post any advice. Im going with the 5.3. So it can be ripped apart and cleaned up and at the end of the day i will have a somewhat new\reliable engine.
Buddy has an Iron 5.7 brand new Forged Pistons and Rods, Line honed everything all you would need is to bolt on your heads and cam and go he wants 2500 for it....0 run time, Blueprinted build sheet included he's in Texas

Thanks, i would get it but i want light weight aluminum... If i were to get an iron block i would get an ls2.. Yes you make more power with iron block but more power = more money. I would like to keep my tranny and rear end stock and have little mods on an aluminum block.
