Default stuck lifters on 5.3l

I have a 5.3 I picked up local. I decided to tear it down bare block till I noticed I couldn't pull the cam out. I used the cam rotating method several times till I realized a couple of the lifters are not staying up in there trays. so I turned the engine upside-down and tried grabbing them with pliers. still ... lifters do not exit. long story short I used a small bar to possibly pry the lifters up just enough to remove the camshaft.. it worked nothing seems damaged in the process, but yet I STILL HAVE STUCK LIFTERS any help/tips would be greatly appreciated.!

Try pouring brake fluid over the lifters and let it sit.... it might free them up

Now that the cam is out why not push the lifters though to the oil pan?
