http://www.performancetrucks.net/for...20-cam-438267/ Here is a truck with a 220 cam. I don't think you will make 400.

A 224 Cam in a 5.3 will only net you 440 horse at the crank (car craft 5.3 cam comparison).

400 rwhp will require for the motor to be making 480-500 at the crank......

I don't think you'll make 400 at the wheels, but I do think that is a solid cam choice for a good running truck engine that will be fun to drive and sound cammed without being wild.

If you're dead set on hitting 400, there was a thread on here a week or two ago where Tony Mamo got close to 500 on ported 862's. Might get some good information out of that thread. Or see what it would take for Tony to port yours.

Stalled 4l80 probably needs to make even more to put that to the wheel.

I'll agree with you on that. Those stalls sure do eat rwhp!!

If we do a 25 percent difference between 400 horse at tire you need 500 at the crank to make it happen!!

On an honest dyno, not a chance.
