Default ARP head bolt rust

Getting ready to reassemble my motor after a rebuild & upgrade and questioning myself oh head bolt fastens. For some reason the shorter ARP head bolts had some corrosion on the head of the bolts when removed so I'm a little concerned about reusing them. Some of them had some slight rust that cleaned off with a nylon brush but a few of them had enough corrosion that almost all of the ARP stamp was difficult to distinguish. Not sure why this occurred on only the short fasteners? Anyway I have a set of Tty stock fasteners available when everything goes back in if the ARP's need to be tossed. The threads and shafts all look fine it's just the heads that are concerning.

Anyone else ever in counter this before with ARP fasterns?

They will rust if unprotected by oil. If they came out of the motor like that, then they may not have been seeing oil up top. Are these the small bolts above the lifters or the shorter head bolts?

Do you have a photo? If so, call ARP and send them the photo. I would let them provide the technical decision on re-use. You might also be able to buy just the ones you need to replace those that are rusted.

It's the small bolts just above the lifters. The motor suffered from low oil pressure when I purchased the car so that makes sense. The short and long actual head bolts look fine.

I would contact ARP and see if you can buy just those bolts. They are probably available separately since they do have bubble packs of bolts. That way you are starting with a clean sheet and won't have to worry.
