Question about cam degreeing
I'm doing a LS swap into my 71 el camino.
The engine is from an chevrolet express 2003 5.3L.
engine is taken apart and I'm going to rebuild it now, the cam i have decided to buy is Grind Number:HR-224/347-2S1-15 4A
I have read that you have to degree the cam before puttin the chain on, but i don't have the tool for it.
There is a mark on the cam wheel so i'm wondering if it is possible to use this one ore do i need to buy a special tool to get the job done right?
the timing chain is LS2 BILLET TIMING SET
I'm sorry if this is a bit messy, It's my first post

Here is why you should measure:

My first timing set was way off, my second set was nearly spot on. Why? No idea, but that is why checking is worth the effort.
