I just picked up my first ls car. I got a 99 z28 m6 car. It is bone stock with borla exhaust. I want to get some more horse power out of it but I also want to be able to drive it to work on some nice days. I know I need to get headers and wye pipe. Where do I go from there?? Thanks for any help.

MY friend has a 90 something MUSTANG that he just dropped a sbf stroker motor in and he has be talking all kinds of **** this week now that my car is home.

 

Headers are a good start, but what is your budget? Don't forget a tune when you are done.

Most car forums all say the same thing. Start with intake/headers/exhaust. Also, a tune is not always necessary but you will get way more power tuned versus un-tuned. After those few bolt-ons gears would be a nice addition for a reasonable price.

What are your end goals, at least for the moment?

 

I dont know much about the tuning. I didnt know if buying a ls6 intake and heads would be worth it. What cam should I look at? what do I need to do to get 400HP out of that car? I want to find a 12 bolt for the car. The 10 bolt in it now has a loud whine to it. Almost sounds like a bad tire. What gear do you think would be best ? I was thinking 3.73
