Default pushrod length?

I am using a lq9 block, stock mls stock head gaskets, ls3 heads with stock rockers. A 238 242 trick flow cam. Anyone know the size of pushrods off the top of there head. I believe it should still be the factory 7.400 but I want to double check. I bought a measure tool but it isn't working out the best. Thanks

Do you just want it to run or do you want it to run right?

If you just want it to run and take a guess, then put 7.400" PR's in there. You'll likely have too short at 7.400" as the base circle of the cam is likely smaller than the stock cam.

But you will never know the proper length without checking correctly. I'd suggest getting a new PR checker or learn how to use the one you have now. There's a billion threads on here with detailed instructions on how to do this at home, even for the novice mechanic.

It's really simple. Get the camshaft on the base circle. Put the pushrod checker in place of the pushrod. Turn it out about 7 turns or so. Then slowly turn the checker until you get the rocker arm to "zero lash". Basically just as soon as the slack is taken up with the checker. Carefully remove checker and Clint the turns it takes it get to "zero". Add your desired preload to that length. Voila.
