Default Just about to order my combo for my LS1 need some input

Hello talking with the boys at Texas speed shop and I'm just about to order the PRC 225cc heads and ms4 cam combo .and ordering the Fast 102 with the nick williams 102 TB I am at the moment installing a Detroit locker with 4.10 gears since my rear end detonated . is this a good combo for close to 500 rwhp? Input would be awesome since I'm ordering today

What CC heads? It will put you low to mid 4's unless you are running much higher compression or on a <402

Running a FAST 92, same cam, PRC 5.3 stage 2.5 on a 6.1l with 11.4 CR put down 428/427 with a moser 12 bolt and a t56 @ 7100 ish.

You may see more then me from the higher flowing heads and intake but I dont think as much torque

the 4.10s will help take out the slack in bottom end ,that cam is definitely a max effort cam

speak to tick ? I wish I went with them. My tuner has tuned a few cars with there cams and is finishing up his 413ci with one.

I've been researching a H/C/I combo for about a year now as we have decided to step up from our bolt-on configuration. I've give you my personal opinion on your order but it's only my opinion. Take it for what it is worth. And by the way, I've decided on the same combination when it's time.

First is it an auto or manual? If it's an auto you're going to need a very loose converter. I think either way (more so with an auto) it's going to be tough to hit 500. That's a pretty tall order with a SBE LS1. Can be done but with off-the-shelf parts and an non-ported head? Most likely not. I'm guessing you'll be in the 450'ish range but think you'll still be very happy with the result for the money. Keep in mind also that dyno numbers are just that ... numbers. If the car feels and sounds good and you enjoy that's all that matters.

If you're dead set on hitting 500 call Tony Mamo and speak with him about his new heads, an intake that he massages, as a custom cam ground to your specific needs. It's going to cost you though. He's one of the best in the business and can hook you up but it all depends on how badly you want to move from mid-400's to almost 500. Get your checkbook ready!

Unless this is primarily a track car I would go smaller on the cam, better on the heads, high compression, ported fast, and a light weight valve train.

That's a 440ish combo with an A4. The PRC 227 heads would give you more. Maybe another 10-15rwhp.

But I don't like that combo. Read this: https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...alvetrain.html

Also, take a look at my build thread, in particular my build: https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...l#post17133774

If you have an A4, buy whatever cam you want. If you have an M6, buy something smaller. In either case, go with as much head as you can afford, the FAST 102, and 1-7/8" headers.

But the valvetrain plays a huge role as well.

Realize you bought an LSK lobe with a fairly heavy 2.06" intake valve. The EHT springs will control that, but be prepared to check them in 8-10k miles. Also, buy better than 5/16" pushrods and better than LS7 lifters for that combo.

More questions , what injector should I run? And do I need to run a different MAF?and will the stock fuel pump be efficient ?

I am running white GTP injectors(36lb @ 3 bar) which is 41lb at 58psi, with the stock pump, and my IDC is 71%. You can find reman units flow matched for 140.00 and they are easy to tune. I kept the stock pump for now because it only has 17k miles, so unless yours is up there on mileage, it will be fine.

Stock maf will be a restriction...I am seeing 98kpa with a 85mm unit. I will probably end up pulling it and running SD.
