Default Is this a good price for heads and cam package??

Alright guys, so ive been doing some research.. through here and talking to vendors. Im trying to find out if you guys think this is a fair price on a h/c package. So here are the parts as follows..

-Trickflow 220cc As Cast 3.900" Bore
-Powder Metal Guides- Required for use of stock rocker arms
-61cc chamber
-GM TTY LS1 Head Bolts
-GM MLS 5.7- Pair
-Comp Cams Trunion Upgrade for use with my stock rockers
-VRX5-- 236/238 .602/.605 113+2
-5/16" 7.500" Hardened Pushrods
-Front Cover Seal / Front Cover Gasket / GM Waterpump Gaskets / GM Valve -Cover Gaskets
-ARP Crankshaft Bolt
-LS7 lifter kit
-C5R timing chain
-Melling High volume oil pump #10296

And the grand total is 3183.23 including tax shipped to my door with standard shipping from vengeance racing. What do you guys think?... Oh and btw is there anything on this list that you would add that i might be missing?

Not bad, seems legit. I would do ARP head bolts over Gm TTY. Won't be fun angle torquing them stock bolts in an f body & the ARP is much better.

I don't think that's a bad price at all. I would consider going to ARP head studs. Also, your long tubes, if they are smaller primaries, consider going to 1-7/8" primaries. I don't see which intake you are using, but if you are still on the stock LS1 intake, you'll be leaving a lot of power on the table. I'd go to a FAST 92/92 at a MINIMUM with that set up.

Yeah, they are pricey, but like everything else on these things that is pricey - worth it.

Get a Fast and some morel 5315 instead of LS7 lifters. The cam also seems a tad large. The VRX4 would be much better for street driving. Arp bolts are much easier to install in the car.

Agreed. Do the VRX4, Morel 5315s, and the ARP bolts.

FAST 92/92 would be easier to install. You give up a few ponies vs the 102, but if you go with the VRX4, you'll be going for more avg power vs all out. The 92 would be good there.

Thanks for the input.. the longtubes i have right now are 1 3/4. I read a thread along time ago on here about guys expirience with 1 7/8 headers.. basically 1 7/8 arent needed untill the motor is roughly around 440+ CI

1 7/8 have been dyno proven to make 8whp over 1 3/4 on a stock 346. On a 440ci motor I would be running 2".

That depends a lot on what other mods the 346ci has. If it's has heads/cam/intake, going up to 1 7/8 headers is going to gain more than 8rwhp. There have been instances of guys making upwards of 15+rwhp by going with larger primary headers.

Not at all...I picked up 20 rwhp switching over to 1 7/8" and both were kooks.

TSP did a back to back comparison on their 1 3/4 and 1 7/8 headers and gained 8-9hp on a stock 346. Obviously on a engine with more mods the 1 7/8 would show even more gains. Point is 1 7/8 are worth it so I guess we agree.

Definitely upgrade lifters. It's only like an extra $100 for the Morels and I would do ARP bolts over studs. Unless you're boosted or spraying a lot of nitrous I think studs are overkill.
