Casting defect in Lingenfelter head repair recommendation
I've got a set of Lingenfelter cnc 243's that I purchased second hand a while back, and finally got them installed along with a BTR stage 3 n/a cam in my 04 Gto. Long story short, motor hydrolocked on first attempt cranking it. Pulled the heads and started flash lighting the valves and intake ports, and noticed a small through wall pinhole in the#2 port on driver's side head on the sidewall of the port, adjacent to the intake valve. Which would explain coolant leaking back into the cylinder. I'm a mechanical equipment inspector for phillips 66, so I'm familiar with damage mechanisms in various metals and alloys, but this did seem very uncommon for erosion/corrosion to be present on the intake side of an engine. Talking with our corporate corrosion engineer, were thinking it was caused during the casting process, possibly porosity or a blow hole in the aluminum. I've tried to contact lingenfelter but can't get anyone to return my calls or emails. I have no problem paying for repair work, just need to know if it can be repaired. Anyone have any recommendations? Thanks in advance, and hope I was descriptive enough.
