Default Oil coming out?

With the transmission removed looking directly Above the real main seal housing there is a opening in the the block in which you can see the camshaft position sensor. What would cause oil to come out of the opening? Please need help bad

You should NOT be able to see the camshaft sensor. Is there some of the block cracked off exposing it? Iron or aluminum block, what vehicle?

Pics??

That's where the barbell goes I believe. I just bought a btr stage 3 cam, and it came with the new barbell that fits in that spot. It's supposed to keep the oil from running back into the galley after the initial flow pattern. I believe, but someone please back me up on this ..don't wanna be giving out incorrect info.

That's not the hole he means. He means the one straight up from the top of the rear cover. I have a 6.0 block on the stand at home. I will look at it tonight.

The cam sensor passes through the top of the block then through the open space. Then it goes back into the block. This is where the seal on the sensor seats.

If you're having oil coming out from this exposed section of the camshaft sensor, I'd say the O-ring on it is bad, missing or dislodged.

It's pretty hard to fling oil up past the CMP sensor and to have it come out of the cavity above the crossover passage (altho it is not impossible)...

maybe, just maybe, oil under pressure is pushing out of the crossover passage (i.e. getting pushed out of the crossover passage and out from between the block and the rear cover)... ( maybe )

( I say this because the cam reluctor does not get lubed, whereas the crossover passage contains pressurized oil )

My guess would be a bad or missing o-ring.
