Default Ok, More on that Stupid Oil leak Issue At the Track

Ok I hit the track again last nite.

here is the link to the problem as posted last week
https://ls1tech.com/forums/generation-iii-internal-engine/176149-big-problem-track-last-nite-ideas-needed.html

First pass it did it again. My dipstick tube was bolted tight to the head this time so I was like great guess it wasn't the dipstick.

I went out onto the road outside the track to do some testing. Reason being that I had been snotting the hell outta the car on the street in street trim the last week to see if anything happened and NOTHING leaked. In street trim I am very traction limited on radials and have my Hal's on 12 so the car transfers no weight. Thus the interesting part..

I went out and pounded on it on that road and nothing. I came back in and made another pass and nothing..made a few more and nothing..just a bit of drip from what was still on the underside of car. Then it did it once more mildy this time on one of my last passes of the nite.

Basically the issue only seems to happen when the car is launched hard on a slick and pulls the front wheels off the ground..even then it only did it once bad.

I was thinking maybe the dipstick could still be it..if the O ring were messed up or the tube got bent a little..

I just can't think of anything that would leak only sometiems like that..I would assume if i had a busted seal or gasket it would do it everytime..and the clutch is still perfect, nothing appears to be hitting it at all..

sorry for the novel..just trying to get this figured out..

Possibly a leak at the rear of the oil pan, especially where it mates to the rear cover.

as mentioned in the previous thread, sounds like it could be the rear main seal (has happened to me before). but, like you said, if it was the RMS, then you clutch would be slipping, as was mine.

Just to eliminate the possibility, can you drop the tranny for a quick inspection of oil in the bell housing?

Another thing you could do, if your into this kind of techno trash, is pick up a small b/w camera, lcd screen, and rig it up so you can see whats spewing.

I have the same problem Sean, I think it's the LSX intake because my car never did this before and I did not have this problem with the LS6 intake.
