Question about K1 Technology Rods
Question about K1 Technology Rods Looking at the K1 parts, and for a 6.125" rod with .927" pin they have two different rods available. One is there standard and one is "light weight"
The standard weighs 660grams and the light rod weighs 616, which is a significant savings in my book. However, are these light rods going to be as strong and handle as much power?
My other question is i see them listed as "billet" rods instead of forged rods. Are they really made out of 4340 billet chromoly? because they are at the same price point as others "forged" rods.

Chinese 4340 forgings and machined in the USA like Compstar. The standard Compstar rod is 616g and is very strong. The lightweight K1 is not as strong. I'd probably spend the extra cash on the Compstar.

What makes the compstar rods stronger? I haven't had any to look at but from pictures they look very similar (but it is hard to tell on a computer screen).

thanks for all the help, so what about the lunati H beam rods. They come in 6.125" length and are close to the price of the K1 and callies rods. I always though they had great products.
I see eagle and Scat have some as well.
There are so many different options. Trying to find a good strong rod that will hold up to a boosted motor with out breaking the bank. Not sure which brand to go with now.

They all are about the same. If you're under say 900HP, they all will probably work. Over that, and I'd look at true Billet I-Beam rods from Callies or Oliver or the GRP Aluminum rods.
