Default Which heads for 6.0 lq9?

Throwing a lq9 on my ls1 swapped c1500. Getting a fast 92/92 intake and already have a 227/235 613.620 110lsa cam. I was looking into the prc 5.3 stage 2.5 heads but dont know if i should get those. Also buying 42lb injectors this weekend... Kinda on a budget so i want the best bang for the buck. Truck is daily driven and sees track twice a week or so... Trying to hit 450rwhp...backed up by a t56 and 4.10s... Thanks

The PRC heads would work well there. Hard to beat for the money.

I'd get the FAST 36lbs injectors. They are like 299. They are the same injectors GM used in the ASA racing series and came stock in the 3800 Supercharged motors. Of all the injectors out there (besides the stock injectors), they have the absolute best injector data - including the transient data, which you don't even get with the $1K ID injectors.

I say look into the programs advanced induction has to offer on their heads. Really a great bang for the buck deals floating around with this guy's.

I'm running the PRC 5.3 heads on my LQ9, and for the money they do really well IMO

Don't know how much the one above go for but gm makes a cnc set of ls3 heads for 1600. Got to buy springs and stuff though.

Since heads are the most critical part of the equation I would consider going better on the heads now like AI ported 799s or their high compression version of the 317s that probably came with the motor and reusing whatever intake you have now or a cheap truck intake. Then do a FAST intake later easily swapped.

Good heads cost money BUT all the air coming and going moves through them and it makes them about the most critical part of a build. You want to cut a corner cut it somewhere else easily improved later.

So it would be better to go with ai 799 or 243 heads? Im going to do more research wouldn't mind spending a little more if they're worth it

They're 42# at our fuel pressure then, bc those are what I ran. Bosch III's.... And I agree. They're a GREAT injector.

What does "kind of on a budget mean" when it comes to how many greenbacks you have to spend?

I didn't know AI had a High Compression 317 , I thought it based on the 241 .

+1 on AI and I'd look at LS3 injectors on ebay. Super cheap and flow as much as the FAST 36lb. I got mine for $130 shipped with 2000 miles on them.

If both heads were done by the same porter then there might be about a 10 hp difference. Of course they will cost a little more as well

Would still like to know what "kind of on a budget means". There have been several really good deals on AFR and TFS heads on the classified section on here.
