I have a 09 5.3 Silverado and I have to take it to the shop to replace the lifters. I want to replace the cam but don't know which one. What cam should I go with that doesn't have a high lift and don't require a lot of running..if any? Thanks in advance

The GM Hot Cam might work for you. The shop has to pull your heads to replace lifters. Might be a good idea for them to use a thin gasket to raise your compression, since you need new head gaskets anyway. Might also be a good idea to use Morel 5315 lifters instead of the stock LS7 lifters.

Cam motion has drop in cams for truck motors that will work with no other mods. I would look there first

That's the route I'd go.
