Default oil pump assembly.

So I Shimmed an oil oil pump I had laying around and want to make sure Its assembled correctly. When you bolt the cover on, is there supposed to be any gasket or sealant used. Or just slap it together and torque the bolts down

Nope, no gasket or sealer for the cover. Just don't over torque the little bolts.

I put a drop of loctite in the holes of the casting (not on the bolts) when I reassemble my ported oil pumps.....a little added security.

If you do this put the loctite in the hole....not on the bolt threads or it will get under the cover as your screwing in the bolt and effect the clearance of the cover to case assembly and get in the pump.

Hope this helps

Anything worth doing is worth doing well. Build it right the first time....its alot cheaper than building it twice!!
