Default Oil pickup height

Just a quick question, if anyone can possibly chime in with some experience.

I completely forgot to check pickup to oil pan clearance when putting my build together, I have since filled it with oil but haven't started the motor yet.

How many have seen an LS oil pickup that actually needed to be shortened for oil pan clearance?

2004-2006 GTO front sump oil pan.

TIA

I remember bending mine slightly to get a bigger gap from the pan. That was because of the windage spacers required with my 418.

It is probably a non-issue, just wondering if those who've screwed a fair few pans on these things can chime in as to whether it may be of concern.. or to forget it and just run it.

With OEM stuff, I would just run it.

With aftermarket pan or pickup, I would check.

Did you add a stroked crank to the engine?
If so, you'll need to space the windage tray out which will cause the pickup tube to sit LOWER in the pan.
If yes, it's very important to check this. I'd take no less than 1/4" clearance.
