Uh Oh
You didn't check the oil regularly and it either burned or leaked the oil....I would start checking it 500 miles or every fill up. My 167K stock LS1 will consume about 1 qt every 2000-3000 miles or so and it doesn't smoke, leak, or anything like that.

I change it every 3000 miles and never really had an issue until after my cam install. I am thinking that the ventilation in the crankcase isn't right. Possibly is pushing the oil back up to my intake. I am going to put a catch can on to see if this helps my problem. But first gonna take intake and tb off to look inside my manifold to see if there is oil puddles in there. If not, i have another problem...

well since that baffle/pcv is under my valley cover. I never changed it. Car has 80k now. My guess is it went bad most likely. Although i did read these cars have a tendency to consume some oil and have blow through. I figured in that aspect i should get a catch can. But i think i may need to replace the valley cover pcv.

Does a catch can stop the oil consumption or Just catch oil?
In other words, will a catch can fix your problem?

Another question - are your heads ported? If so, the rocker boss may be exposed, allowing oil into your intake runners. If this is the case, simply remove your rockers and reinstall using a thread sealer. Engine can drink a lot of oil this way

I suggest a mighty mouse catch can to stop the stray oil mist from getting to the intake. It would also give you the ability to measure how much oil was getting through.

Ya I'm going to be monitoring it now. But i dont check it everyday or anything. Never really had a problem with any vehicles i have owned. Idk if my cam is messing with vacuum and causing pressure problems inthe crankcase and forcing it up. That's why i was looking into a catch can to stop blow by and to see if it was a source.
