LQ4 Main Bearings
LQ4 Main Bearings Hi all. Got another bug to figure out. Got the rods and pistons sorted, but my issue now is with the main bearing for the crank. First, the bearings were supplied by the machine shop and to be honest they look plain cheap. They machining on them seems fine, but the left a lot of metal shavings on the part and in the drilled oil holes. No the way a product I made would leave the shop.
Anyway, the issue is the first bearing that came out of the package was buggered up on one end, and it has some high metal. I'm tapped on resources at this point and need to know if I can smooth the bearing with a stone and some scotch bright? If not what are my choices, can I get individual bearings or sets only? Thanks

After sleeping on it I decided to get new ones. Sux to spend the money, but it would be devastating to ruin the engine. I make decisions like this at work everyday, it's funny how your own coin can sway you.
