They are also in my 821 LS3 heads.

They do have a single taper. You can also get them with a double taper. Mine are single taper, .080" wall.

3/8" fit the 821/823 head... with stock rockers. I don't know about the YT.

I plan to run 3/8" in my 243s with the T&D Shafts. I believe they will fit but will buy one to test first.

ya i know they fit in the stock castings but they are a little close on some peoples. i'll probably order one and heck it though to see with the yella terras. how close can the pushrod come to the head when rolling it over by hand? I know they can rub a little hwne hot and they will expand so i was wondering if there is some sport of measurement to take when rolling it over to know it if will be ok running

I'm sorry to ask such a basic question, but why get 1.85 rockers instead of a cam ground to match what you want? Seems to be like the higher rocker ratio might cause increased side loading and would act like a cam with very aggressive ramp rates?

Not a basic question! Lol im choosing this route for a couple reasons. One is that I eventually want to do a blower on the car and putting an NA cam in it now wouldnt be optimal later on and a blower cam now is sacrificing power. With the rockers I can just simply unbolt them or even keep them with the blower if i dont get a blower cam. Plus blowers LOVE lift. I also wanted to see what I could squeeze out of this motor na, I had that same vision with my ls6 but cammed it first then went all out with bolt ons. This time I'm skipping the cam, keeping a stock idle and seeing what she's got. No matter what anyone says as well a rocker swap is still cheaper than a cam swap by a decent bit.

As far as side load goes you shouldnt see any side loading of the valve. You get the side load on a stock rocker because the tip of the rocker basically slides on the valve at higher lifts creating friction and pushing to one side or the other. With RR's no matter the ratio the roller will "roll" essentially and keep the valve straight although the wipe pattern might be a little wider than with a 1.7 ratio but dont quote me on that.

The yella terras are on their way to me from the classifieds on camaro5 but it they were supposed to be here yesterday and usps tracking is about the most useless thing on earth so hopefully they show today.

Aside from Red's explanation, Ask yourself this question...why did GM go from 1.5 ratio on SBC to 1.7 on LS based engines all the way up to 1.8 ratio on the LS7? I would think if there was a issue with running more rocker ratio opposed to just netting more lift with cam swap then GM would still be using 1.5 ratio rockers.
