Default Come in help with build-

Hello,

Current setup is as follows. 2002 Z28 A4, w/ ac/ps

Engine: 347 LS1
5.3L heads W/oversized valves (#706 heads)
Comp LSR cam 231/239 .617/.624 113 LSA w/ New pushrods / Valve springs
Wiseco Pistons
K1 Rods
LS6 Intake manifold
LS7 lifters
Ls2 Timing chain
FAST 36# injectors
Aero 340 LPH fuel pump

Car made 378/380 on motor and 494/433 on a 150 shot with a bigger fuel jet then recommended.

The car seems to lack some power on motor at the top of 3rd.

Id like to try and fix this with a more aggressive cam.

Do i need a special cut cam to work with these heads/valve setup? What cam may you recommend? I'd like it to be pretty aggressive on motor with the nitrous as just the extra giddy up when needed. This is not a daily fyi.

Sorry for maybe the ridiculous question but i didn't build this car my uncle did and i inherited it as a wedding gift.

Thanks,

That is a pretty aggressive cam for a 5.7, perhaps the valve springs are just shot and it's considerably more noticeable in the third gear when the engine is building rpms at a slower pace.
A set of MMS220 heads and a matching 92mm FAST intake should put you in the mid fours at the tire on *****

I agree with A. R. Shale Targa, MMS 220 heads, 227*/231* cam, +FAST 92=
420+ RWHP With stalled auto, better performance bottom to top,
along with Better Driveability as well.

What about switching to e85 with my current setup. I'd just need bigger injectors and a tune.

And where can I find this mms220 head, Google isn't being friendly.

I run those heads with a cam more aggressive yet. It's not the cam that you have that's causing the problem
