I know this is beating a dead horse, but I've got a knocking sound coming from the passenger side of the top end as best I can tell. I can't find a thread that describes the type of noise that I've got going on. It just started all of a sudden this past Friday morning. When I parked it the night before it was fine but when I went to leave for work and started it up it made this pretty loud solid knocking noise that didn't sound like a lifter failure but I can't rule that out yet. When the motor warms up it quites down and is almost unnoticeable but it's definitely still there. I haven't torn into it yet but first thing will be to pull the valve cover and check push rods and lifters. If that's not it, where should I go next?

 

Idk but here is my lifter failure sound, once warmed up the knock wasn't as bad.. and the squeal sound didn't start for a good 40miles while pulling a trailer after the knock.. neways thought it might help ya
