Default What does it take to put a 3/8 pushrod in a 243 headed LS1?

Getting ready for my head/cam swap this winter. I've got almost everything together, and working out the details for the rest.

Did some studying up on pushrods and valvetrain stability. I'm looking to do a 3/8 pushrod. Since the heads are still off the car, this is the time to make sure I have the clearance.

Who's done this? What needs to be ground away and how much?

Sometimes they fit no issue. Sometimes they don't. Technically they should fit without much issue, but you may need to elongate the top of the pushrod hole to provide enough clearance once heated up.

Ok, thanks. Looks like I'll have to do some pre-assembly and checking when it comes time, then.
