Default yet another cam question

I'm sorry! i can't find the info i really want. Im torn betwenn ms3, tqr v2, 233/239. It will be cam only for now, yes I'm going to upgrade push rods, springs, timing chain and oil pump. Hoping to get by with stock injectors, local shop said i should be fine so we will see. My main question, drivability isn't the biggest issue as its a weekend warrior. I like the peak power of the ms3 and was going to do a 111 lsa, but i don't really want to spin close to 7k. I'm feeling like around 66-6700. I would like to have roughly 390 to the wheels but also want power to really come on around 25-3000 rpm. Sorry again if this has been asked, been searching for a few days and can't seem to find the right answer.

Well bottom line the MS3 will make more peak power than the other 2, but at the expense of some low and mid range power. So only you can decide from there

390 is fine on stock injectors. Near the limit but still ok.

Alright, thanks for the info! I saw a dyno graph earlier where am ms3 kinda leveled off at 6500rpm, yet here people say it likes 7k. Any thoughts on this? I just really wanna have good useable power. I have 3.73's don't plan to go to 4.10's I like the way my gears are. What cam would yall think would give me that power band better?

The cam I read getting rave reviews for good midrange power ("pulls like a freight train" and similar comments) is the Tick SNS2.

The ls2 version is 231/235, and would give you exactly what it sounds like you're after.

Thanks again guys! I really like what I'm reading and seeing from the stage 2 sns. Seems like it would put me in the 390 range and perform real well. Makes great tq and power at great rpms. Gonna give them a call this afternoon to see what they think

Unless you go with higher gears, I'd opt for the Torquer V2, but that's just me.

Yea I keep telling myself that cuz I'm not gonna get dynoed either way so I just want it to perform great. I love how my gears are right now and from what I've read the power comes on around 2k rpm all the way to 64-6500 sounds great!

If you are looking at Torquer cams I would probably opt for the V4 which is ground on a less aggressive lobe.

Personally I would stick with a cam around 228 on the intake duration . it is pretty much the sweet spot for good power, tq, and driveability for a LS1.

228r, Titan V4, Street sweeper HT, Tick SNS 2....etc. Lots of choices.

Agreed. Up to 227-228, you get good gains for very little tradeoffs. Above 230, you start making larger trade offs for smaller gains.

You would love that Titan IV posted above, my roommate just got one for his trans am. Pulls great but also still drives awesome.

The MS3 does peak and level off around 6300-6400..but it carries out and to see the full benefit you would want to rev to 7,000ish shift points. I don't think it sounds like what you really want.

Texas Speed does have some other offerings which you might find to your liking (Torquer V4 is a new one that's good) if that is your preferred vendor.
