It was announced on Tick's FB page a couple days ago. I think he was let go, but it seems he left on good terms.

I bet Tick will lose a lot of custom cam orders now without Martin there. Wonder where he will end up at?

He's starting his own company, don't know if he is going to be a sponsor here just yet.. Hopefully he does since he has a huge following...

Well, I think Jonathan did say they're going to put a hold on spec'ing cams except for in house builds. They still have a good line of shelf cams, so I think they'll be just fine.

if anyone thinks they can spec cams pretty well, I think they're hiring

not just the cam specs, but didnt he come up with their custom lobes as well? I mean, I get it, people come and go, but I do think he will be hard to replace. Tick does a lot more than just cams so I'm sure they'll be fine. Martin is sharp guy. He will come out ok also.

I'm pretty sure they built a very good supply of cam/lobe profiles that unless were proprietary to Martin himself, Tick got to keep the rights to.

So while they may not be able to provide custom cams for a while till they get (if they do) a new cam guy, they still have a ton of proven designs that they can sell. With all the work they have done, I doubt there are many combos out there that they don't have a cam for.

I mean look at so many other vendors who's shelf cams are still popular today.

Good for Martin, going out on his own. I know it was the best thing I ever did. I also had that "attitude" problem with employers, it really wasn't an attitude, I'm just good at what I do.
Tick customers will most likely be screwed if a customer gets one of the "whiney" Comp cams, I know in other threads Martin really helped get it warrantied.

Martin helped spec my setup. He spec'd my cam and set me up with the 5315s, PAC springs, and some Trend 3/8" pushrods. Take the time and make sure your valvetrain is setup correctly and it will be support good power and be reliable.

5206. The lifter might be $400 more a set but $400 is cheap for piece of mind! It' no secret I do quite a few BBC pump gas cams a year. The valvetrain of a BBC is cavemanish to a LS. I have builds that are 10 and 12 years old with the cousin of the 5206 ( same identical body different tie bar ) and they see 6500 to 7200 in these BBCs.
