Differences in LS2 and LQ4/9 rotating assemblies?
I'm considering buying a LS2 block and building one from the ground up. I don't really have the money for forged internals or to stroke it in my budget. As far as a rotating assembly goes what is the differences in the LS2 and LQ4 ones? Can I use an LQ assembly in a LS2 block?
With the LQ blocks being 9.23" deck height and the LS2 being 9.24" I'm suspecting the wrist pins heights are a bit different.
The LQ9 pistons are flat tops like the LS2 stuff but use a thicker 1.5/2.0/3.0 mm ring pack where as the LS2's have 1.2/1.5/2.5mm
DNJ has a nice inexpensive Hyper LS2 style piston which in .5mm (.020") can be had for under 300 bucks with rings. Have your LS2 block freshly power honed out for a 368 inch LS
