Default 5.3 with ls6 z06 cam

Can I use OEM ls6 z06 valve springs and do I need different push rods than stock 5.3.

According to HotRod Magazine it will peak about 6100 instead of the 6000 in the LS6 and I believe the valves are heavier despite being smaller, both of those are reasons to go with more spring.

I've ran the Zo6/LS6 "5308" cam in my 5.3 for about three years...

I run the "blue" GM springs part#12499224 on mine, they are supposed to be good to .570 lift.

The LS6 cam has a .050" smaller base circle...so I ran a 7.425" pushrod.

(Stock 5.3's run 7.400" pushrods)

I have no problems with, and really like this setup.

EDIT: I agree with 96capricemgr...if your going to spin it to 6500, I would definitely upgrade to a better spring...

(I get by with the "blue" springs because I use mine as a daily driven pooch...I rarely spin over 5000...)
