Default head studs

ok - so after searching for hours I can find no reference to my question
I want to buy head studs however I find that there are "three bolt" and "two bolt" offered but no reference to what that means

how do I tell what I need

my motor is a 2003 6l

You need pre-04 studs for your 03 block.

Not sure if anyone has come across this, but i was informed that some very late '03 blocks came with the '04 and up retainer depth, it was a transition time / early introduction deal, but i have not seen or really ever heard anyone else ever mention it. My '03 block was made Aug 27 and uses the multi length studs.

MY 04 I currently run (from a GTO) has the older style as an FYI. Buddies 04 LQ4 was the newer. I think around 03/04 you better double check to confirm.
