Default Resleeving equipment

Can an ls block (l33 in this case) be resleeved (with dry or wet sleeves ... whichever is easier) with only a kwik way boring bar? After reading the instructions from L.A. sleeve it seems like it would be very possible to do with the boring bar (ie. without a mill) Also i understand the process of the dry sleeves but I do not know if wet sleeves are easier or harder or what the process is?? Thank you any help would be appreciated.

I know one way to find out, find a junk block buy 1 sleeve, and start the process. but
seems like the manufacturer might be a good place to read and ask questions.

I would say that it's impossible without a CNC Machine.

The sleeved block has been around a LOT longer then the CNC. All a CNC does is save a mill operator time, it can still be done the hard way.

You should be able to do it with the boring bar provided you can orientate the engine block the way it needs to go and measure accordingly. It will be time consuming, the spec tolerance for the interference fit is .0015-.002 for iron and .003-.004 for al

Here is my response from L.A. sleeve

Sorry for late reply. Gone all last week for holiday.

LS1 sleeves can be installed with quik way boring bar. Mill is only optional.

Sincerely,

So it seems that there should be no problem installing dry sleeves from this manufacturer ... I would think that it would work with the Darton dry sleeves or any dry sleeves but I have not asked any other manufacturer and I do not have any idea about wet sleeves at all.
