Default Using sbc 4.030 pistons

I have a set of 1.125 compression height 4.030 bore Mahle pistons , pins, circlips , & rings. (one of the powerpak sets that costs like $600-700)

If one were so inclined , could these be used in a ls engine platform? i assume they would have to be flycut? Its a -26cc dished piston and would be used in either a 3.75 stroke build or a 6.125 rod 4.0" stroke boosted build.

I'd ask Mahle about that. I think the 4" stroke LS pistons have a specific skirt profile for the LS cylinder length. A SBC piston with a different skirt may not work out to well in an LS block.

Good advice! I didnt really think of skirt length, and forgot i heard something about how the 4.0" stroke puts the piston coming out of the cylinder at the bottom....

Yeah, the bottom will come out but if the skirt profile is designed for it, it's not a problem. The skirt will be barrel shaped and as long as the fastest part of the barrel is still in the cylinder, you're all good. The problem here is that I don't think the skirt profile will be the same, but Mahle should be able to tell you that.
