Nice work! It will be fun working the times down. That's great for first time out with the new setup. Definitely keep us posted. I might try to make it to LS Fest also. I booked a room already and I'm hoping I can get my parts and car together.
I'm curious on tire size too. I'm going to do a 3.90 rear end gear. I wanted to do 4.10 also but a few shops recommended 3.90. But I'm going to use a 26" tire also.

The car runs strong. I have had the intake re plumbed, jetted for a 300, and added a NX Max 5. Lost the in tank 255, got it replaced. Had an issue with the launches pushing the torque arm bushing out, so swapped it to a MWC short torque arm. Put the car on 28x10.5 slicks and it fixed the launch issue I was having. Had to screw the tires. Since doing the new fuel pump, changing the torque arm, adding the NX Max 5, and putting screws in the tires, I have not had a chance to get it back out. Hoping to this season!
I purchased a 2002 Z06, and went forged LS6 with a YSi on it for half mile events, between that, a divorce, meeting someone else, gaining 2 step children and my first on the way, this project hit the back burner unfortunately.

Finally got out to the track to test the suspension changes. Ran 1/8 mile on motor only all night. Best run was a 7.3 @ 98 with a 1.6 60 ft. The car either needs more gear, or to step down to a 26” tall tire for motor runs. It would launch, get a nice controlled spin, and when it would grab it would bog slightly. Not too worries about that though, since it will be on the bottle. Hoping to get to finish up the Max 5 install and get back out to the track in 2-3 weeks. I will try and get videos up later today.

Video of one of the runs. No plans to go to a 26" tire, hit it with the bottle and be happy. My foot barely tapped the brake pedal between the 2-3 shift on this one, and short shifted first a tad. I was trying to regain a feel for the car after 2.5 years of not driving it. Hopefully the video does okay, I had to re-size it to get ls1tech to accept it.

You should let him drive! That's weight reduction for you. How else you gonna get 160 lbs out of the car?

Well, plans have changed on this car. It took me many months of thinking, and planning, but I finally decided to let go of the mamo top end, remove everything nitrous on the car, and go to a single turbo set-up.
Set-up will be a Huron T6 kit, with a Huron billet S480, 317 heads, LS6 intake, BTR Stage 3 cam, E85 and a Holley Terminator X ECU. I wanted to keep the Mamo heads, but with a 62cc chamber, it would have taken tearing the bottom end apart and swapping pistons to make it happen. I decided for a LS6 block 383, I will probably end up running into block strength problems before issues with the 317 heads. 317 heads at stock CC, with LS9 gaskets puts me around 10.1:1 compression, perfect for a boosted build. With the addition of going E85, it should make excellent power.
Now, on to the pictures!
Starting the tear down
Tear down begins!
Getting ready to pull the heads
First head off!
700 hard miles on the pistons
Heads off
Cam pulled
Bumper off ready to mount the intercooler
Pile of parts ready to go in
Squash dual 450's in tank
Dual 450s dropped in
Original 2002 dash pad removed in 1 piece!!!
Pulling the dash to remove all unnecessary wiring, mount the Terminator X, and move what will be left in the original fuse box under the dash
Huron twin BOVs and twin 44 Gates
Huron billet S480 has arrived!
Billet wheel
RPM Speed Leadfoot valves
Huron cold side arrived!
Huron hot side arrived!
