Default LQ4 Engine build advise

Hey all,

Long story short I need to build a motor as the stocker took a crap. Car is a 02 T/A WS6 M6. Car will never see the track it will only be a crusier/street car. Im trying to get the most power (N/A) as I possibly can with a 10k Budget. This budget doesn't include a Fast 102 or NW throttle body I have set aside funds separately just for those items. With all these engine options available what will get me the most for my money?

I really don't have a clue on what parts I should be ordering or looking for. I know there are also multiple vendors/ websites that offer longblock builds but again they require you to choose pistons, heads, cam, crank etc..

I realize that 10k may sound like a lot but when it comes to a build it goes quick that much I do know. If any of you had to do this what would you build. Please be as detailed as possible so I can start putting together a spreadsheet of what I will need.

For 10k you could go to a place like a Thompson Motorsports and get a full balanced and blueprinted shortblock with a warranty. That along with heads and cam

I'd look at something like a 408ci iron block with LS3 heads. You should be able to get damn near everything but the intake for $10k.

I have checked them out already along with texas-speed but that's what brought me here with my questions as the websites want you to pick cam, crank, pistons etc.. this is the part I have no idea about. For a top end theres no question I will be going with a mamofied head.

Would I get some better info from calling one of these places up and see what they are offering?

Don't have the block. It will be a new purchase that's part of my budget.

Yes you definitely need to talk to a few places and see what they can offer. In my case TMS helped me out tremendously when I went through them....that kind of info wasn't on their site lol
