ls1 383 questions
Been in contact with Tony Mamo of Mamo Motorsports about a top end combo and with my goals he recommended a 383 rotation assembly. My only worry is how far does the piston come out of the bottom of the bore at its deepest part of stroke in the bore? Just dont want to have a piston rock issue wearing rings quicker than normal. I do plan on daily driving this car when there isn't snow on the ground. Thanks ahead for any input on this subject. Hopefully someone has a straight awnser
I do trust tony but as I'm sure he is swamped busy this and a couple other questions I had for him slipped threw each message between us unanswered. No big deal as I was hitting him hard with questions. Tried searching for it but found no awnser. My goal is something in the ball park of 500 whp, I'm not stuck on a number as I would rather have a nasty curve and fall a little short up top as this car will be almost full weight and see massive street duty. Thanks.

Thank you for the reply, those are the kinda awnsers I'm looking for
just figured I would post here instead of continuously bothering tony I'm sure he has alot going on!
just figured I would post here instead of continuously bothering tony I'm sure he has alot going on! Every 402 / 408 / 383 build on this board has a 4" arm stuffed in it.....it poses zero issues with functionality and longevity. A 4.125 is starting to push things a little IMO (I wouldn't recommend one to a guy looking for 50K miles from one), but a 4" is the happy compromise of good displacement bump and good reliability
Hope this helps!
