Smile 346 rebuild or stroker?

right now i have absolute speed stg 2 heads and a comp
588/588...228/228 cam....the car is using about a qrt of mobil 1 10w30 every 800 miles or so....the heads are great and the problem is not from them....did the catch can mod and all of the other oil consumption fixes...
everybody tells me the only thing left are the rings that could be causing the problem?I do get a good spot of smoke when i mash the gas but it seems ok after that as far as i can tell...the car only has 33k miles..should i just rebuild the shortblock? or am i missing something..that might be causing this...will the cam and heads work ok with a 382 shortblock? or should i just do a forged shortblock 346 and some spray...witch would make better power? sorry about the long post just trying to decide how to spend my money....thanks for any opinions...

Nitrous will make the most power. I suppose it depends on your budget. Replacing the rings, bearings, rod bolts, pistons, .005" overbore, and balancing will be much less than a stroker.

Your heads will work with the bigger motor, but make sure you calculate compression with the pistons you choose to make sure it is appropriate for the cam, intended use, and fuel choice/options.

You may want to go with a bigger cam with more cubes.

a stroker will end up costing you more even though you dont figure on it initially. There is always something that comes up that you need. The 347 will save you mad cash.

If you stay with a stock Crank and just have it worked over, you will save a lot of money. I did the Lunati Kit, the kit for the 347 is the same price as the 382. Ofcourse machine work on the block and little things here and there add up. My 347 was definetly cheaper. However, im not a big N20 freak. I plan on adding it, but im more of a street strip cruiser type. Now that its all built, im very happy, but dont get me wrong, im already planning on a bigger cube set up in the future
