There is a Yank 3800 in the classifieds right now for $500, if its a general consensus that I need a new stall maybe I should jump on it?

that's a good stall for that cam. Definitely keep you in your powerband

Ok, next question is, is a cutout going to be worth it? I really don't want to swap the entire catback, as that puts me over budget right now.

Back when I had my 2000 ss I ran a Futral f11 228/230 .575/.595 114+4 with tea 5.3 heads and had a Flowmaster with a cut out. I can't remember the exact numbers but I want to say I picked up 10-15 rwhp with the cut out open on a dyno.. don't quote me on the exact numbers since it was 6-7 years ago, but it was enough to make my jaw drop lol.. just do a cut out, way cheaper than a new cat back. For 1k I think the stall and tune will wake your car up. 3800 would match your cam well.. get a big Trans cooler 11x11 and mount it where it gets good air flow, it's very important. May want a temp gauge to monitor it also.. if you do a truck pan and filter you will gain 1qt to help with cooling also. I found my aluminum truck pan on ebay and has a drain plug for $60.

Holy ****, looks like I will be doing a manual cut-out then. I believe I have the TSP y-pipe and I-pipe, so that would be a 3" cutout correct?

PT series 4k does best in N/A application's. Got friends that run it with good results.
I'm running a FTI 4k hardhit I really like it.

I agree with the last 4+ post. I had a PT4000 and it was bad ***. Cutout gained me 10hp on the dyno (flowmasters do sound good) but open that cutout for the power . Your are headed in the right direction IMHO.

Yes 3 " cutout and I would go with an ss4000, they out perform the 3600 and since you don't DD, why not go higher.. plus the SS series drives very well.. lots of people DD the ss4000.. I've had 2 of them now and love them.. you will want some sticky tires for sure!

Manual cutouts are dirt cheap now if you didn't want to spend the 250+ for an electric one. I would also be curious if you're going to run out of fuel injector if they're stock with the new mods.
