Did you have any problems with that chain against the intake manifold?
Nice Build, sounds like a beast.
It is not an lsx block, just a iron 6.0 block painted chevy orange. The machine shop checked the cam bores, mains, bored it, balanced the rotating assembly, re did my heads and everything. The chain did not really touch the intake, it slightly touched it, but did not crack it or anything like that. And thank you, it is a beast, this is my first complete engine build so I am pretty proud. Just a 408 with decent parts lol

Well, the motor has been running great for the past couple weeks. Has about 1k miles on it and it is time to start planning the next part of the build. I already have nitrous set up on the car, so I will probably hook that back and run a 150 shot on it for a bit, just for a little extra when I want it. But I put this engine together with boost in mind, so I am trying to weigh out the pros and cons between a procharger (f1a/x) or an 80-88mm turbo. I have a friend that is a dealer for procharger so I could get that at cost, and I have the means to fab a turbo kit my self. I'm just curious to get other peoples opinions before making a final decision.

Looks like a nice build. Glad you didn't undercam the motor. I didn't see which heads you ended up with, but if nothing else, I hope you did aftermarket heads for the exhaust port flow. Stock castings tend to like more split, especially as intake flow increases. Aftermarket heads will also generally make more power with less psi boost, because of the increased flow.

With your current cam, I would suggest you use a procharger vs a turbo. That's a lot of overlap, and very likely to fight the turbo. if you plan on changing the cam, then it won't matter, just get what you want.

As of now, I am just using ported 317's that I ported myself. I would ultimately like to put a set of mast heads on the car, but I think they me a bit out of the budget, so I have been looking at a set of prc 247's. I needed to get the car running again as to way I did not wait on the heads. But with tax time around the corner it looks as if I will be able to do the heads then, and hopefully have boost on it by summer. I do like the cam that is in the car currently, it seems to work well and it pulls hard throughout the rpm range. So, being that a buddy of mine is a dealer for procharger, that might be an easy route for me. Thank you for the input.

Smaknu03,
Have you considered the MMS 235 Cylinder Heads with the
Nitrous/Forced Induction Exhaust Port? i think they are the
best Cathedral Heads especially for a 4.060" Bore and under.
They would run Awesome now and even more with boost
later.

I have not looked at them, but I will definitely look into them as an option. Thank you for the suggestion
