GM Hot Cam Question I just received my GM Hot cam kit 1248033 today & started install on the 03 Corvette motor, The kit comes with cam, new springs & also LS6 part # 12565118 LS6 Spring shim. Everything I read on the install there is no mention of the spring shim ? My spring shims have the built in oil seals on them & the LS6 shim seat do not. Does anyone know what the difference between the LS1 spring shim seat & the LS6 spring shim seat is other than not having the built in seal & why it is supplied in the kit ? I understood the only thing that needed to be changed was the springs that came with kit with no mention of the LS6 spring shim seat ??

If you aren't specifically changing your seals to a non-integrated type, just don't use those seats. Here's a description of the product that corroborates this for you.
