quick oil pump question

quick oil pump question i just installed the hotcam in my 99 ls1 and i was wondering if i should/need to replace my oil pump? someone told me that i run a better chance of damaging my engine if i dont upgrade? any advice /help is greatly appreciated. thanks

If you have more than 50k miles on that pump, its a good idea to replace it. But if you already have it all buttoned up and running and oil pressure is good, don't worry about it until you open it up again or until it fails of course
