Default 5.3 Increasing Compression

Stock LM7. How much power increase could i expect if compression went from 9.5:1 to 10.0:1?

A few percent. You shouldn't be looking at 20hp gain for sure.

They say on average is about 3-4% increase in torque for a full point increase in compression. So you would get a little bit less than that, I would say 5-10 at the most.

Although you will feel it in part throttle driving more than going WOT.

redtan: when you say a full point increase do you mean going from 9.5 to 9.6 or 9.5 to 10.5?

If you really want to make a difference, go to some small chambered heads. Get up to about 11.3-11.5:1 and you'll have a pretty stout 5.3 if pared with the correct cam and a good tune. Also, correct rear end gearing will make the seat of the pants feel a whole lot different as well.
