Rocker arm choice??
Rocker arm choice?? Hi, can't make up my mind which rockers i have to run maybe you valve train gurus can help. I have a set of freshly modded stock rockers with trunion upgrade and also have a set of comp cams 1.85 pro magnum roller rockers with studs,guide plates and poly locks. Pushrods i have are manley 5/16" hardened 7.35, build is LQ4 6.0 trk eng with fresh 317 heads, H beam rods,JE forged pistons, LS9 cam,LS7 lifters. This is a turbo build. Suggestions??
If the heads have powder metal guides, stay with the stock rockers. The other rockers with guide plates, poly locks, etc. are a pain in the a$$ to install, maintain, etc. and they are also have a lot more mass moment of inertia to control.
If you needed a roller rocker for bronze guides I would personally use either and would go with the Yella Terra Ultralight 1.7.

What lifters? The nice thing about the Comp rockers is that they are adjustable, so you can dial in preload or lash for a short travel hydraulic or solid lifter with the poly locks.
Stock rockers. LS9 cam is not ultra aggressive... and with the LS7s and 5/16" pushrods, you don't want to add a lot of weight in the valvetrain and corresponding spring pressures to control that weight.
