Default 2001 LQ4 6.0 bending pushrods on build

Hi all, new to LS engines. Bough truck wih a bad engine and put a low mileage salvage engine in. Ran like crap, had 0 compression on cylinder 7 and leak down rest indicated 100% leak down through exhaust valve. Pulled left head and found cylinder 7 exhaust valve bent lightly hit piston. Had head rebuilt at machine shop, replaced both lifters and pushrods for that cylinder. Turned over by hand and binding. Removed rockers and pushrods and several were bent. Picked up all new pushrods, followed manual instructions and set number 1 to TDC and installed intake rockers pushrods on 1,3,5 and exhaust rockers in 1 and 7 torqued to 22 ft lbs. turned 360 and torqued Intake rockers for 2,7 and exhaust on 3&5. Turned over by hand and binding. Pulled part and 7 of 8 pushrods bent. WTF? Any help is appreciated

Yeah I feel like a real moron. That's what I get for trying to be quick and distracted with everything else going on. Hopefully I'll have it done this week.

We've all been there. At least you are doing all the work yourself and figured it out.

I was going to say pushrods could be to long but you found out why. We all learn by are mistakes just be glad you didn't start the motor that way.
